In “The Stranger” (November 5th, 2009) Jen Graves reflects on the reading that Lydia Davis, the award-winning American author who contributed an example of her fiction to Issue 1 of “The International Literary Quarterly”, gave at Benarroya Hall in Seattle the previous evening. In the course of the posting, Graves mentions Brendan Kiley’s essay on Davis, and interview with Davis (both of which also appear in “The Stranger”) and quotes from Davis’s story, “The Mother”, from the 1986 collection, “Break It Down”.
